I'm here.
Haven't posted a life update in a bit. Everything is fine. No troubles to report, really. As I've mentioned on a couple other posts and the about page and other various things, bought a new car back in December.
And by new car, I mean it had 10 miles on the odometer when the paper work was signed. That was after the test drive, which was a loop from the dealership down a slower two-lane road, through a two-lane highway, off to the interstate, up to the exit, a brief bit of "in-town" driving back to the dealership. In other words, outside of the absolute minimum amount of driving that happens for manufacturing, delivery, and acceptance, I was the first person to touch the car.
I had never actually purchased a new car up until that point. My first two cars were hand-me-downs, and everything since then has been used. I went with a new car this time because, well, it's that point in life where you're supposed to do that sort of thing. Even then, I went for something practical... a Honda CR-V... but the frivolity is that I went for the Sport Touring model. While that also meant it's a hybrid, the big thing I wanted was proper built-in nav. For whatever reason, the lesser models only do nav with Android Auto or whatever the Apple equivalent of that is called. Maybe the Apple equivalent is fine, but I can certainly tell you that Android Auto is complete garbage. It's not that Android is unsuited for a car's head unit... Honda uses it on their vehicles... it's just the way all that works between the phone and the vehicle is terrible.
So, anyways, new car. I love it. Should have done this last year.
